FAQ

Yes, a one month recreational fishing license can be arranged for you by Big Blue Fishing Charter staff prior to the charter. We would require an ID Number or Passport Number with full name and address. A recreational fishing license will then be purchased online on your behalf. Or alternatively please click here to purchase your own.

Yes we have a private fully electric toilet for your comfort and convenience.

Inshore Charter a maximum of 8 people, however at a cost of R1 500 per person we can take 10 people.

Offshore Charter a maximum of 6 people, however at a cost of R2 000 per person we can take 8 people.

By South African fishing law, no fish can be processed onboard the vessel. However arrangements can be made with the skipper/deck hand.

Big Blue Fishing Charters has a 90% success rate, but there is a reason why it is called fishing and not catching.

Cape Town Tuna season is historically mid October to mid December and again mid February to mid June.

Yes, in addition to the charter fee there is a 4.5% electronic transactional service fee.

In summer months (October – April), both inshore and offshore charters depart at 06h30. Return times for inshore charter is approx 12h30 and offshore charter approx 17h00.

In Winter months (May – September), both inshore and offshore charters depart at 07h30. Return times for inshore charter is approx 13h30 and offshore charter approx 17h00.

Yes, provided you have a valid fishing license.

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own tackle.

Yes within reason to be discussed with Big Blue Fishing charter staff.

Yes, there are strict regulations for both size limit and bag limit (refer to permit conditions or Big Blue Fishing Charter staff will inform you).

Yes, in the advent of adverse weather or conditions beyond our control, all payments are fully refundable.
